Pizza night will be held Thursday, March 24th beginning at 10:00 pm at Boston Pizza (2729 Pembina Hwy, ph 204-261-7111) following swimming. The swim on Thursday, March 24th is a free swim open to all club members and will not count towards your weekly number of swim practices. See you there.

March Madness

MMAC is again hosting the March Madness Swim Meet on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Pan Am Pool. MMAC has now posted the Meet Package. You can download it here. The entry deadline is Sunday, March 13, 2016. Please give your completed entry forms and fees to Bob Groff. There is a social event at Santa Lucia Pizza following the meet - appetizers cost $12.00.

March Madness Volunteers Needed

MMAC is looking for volunteers for the March Madness Swim Meet on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Pan Am Pool. 
They need:
- 9 Stroke &#38 Turn volunteers 
- 5 more Timers 
- 1 Hytek trainee 
- 2 warm-up/cool-down supervisors. 
Note:
- for Stroke and Turn position, you must be Certified
- no training required for Timers; training will be provided 1/2 hr prior to meet
- no training required for warm-up supervisors and hospitality
- all volunteers to wear white T-shirt, white or beige shorts or pants, flip-flops or deck shoes.
- the meet is only a one-day event (Saturday, March 19, 12:00noon - 4:30pm)
- warm-up starts at 12:30pm
- volunteers start at 12:00noon
- I will send out a volunteer schedule during the week prior to March 19, 2016 
If you are available to volunteer at the meet please email Barb Waters. Include your name, email address, phone number, and the position your volunteering for. 
Also there is a social event at Santa Lucia Pizza following the meet - appetizers cost $12.00.

17th FINA World Masters Championships Aug. 1-12, 2017 - Budapest, Hungary !

On March 11 FINA announced that Budapest, Hungary, will host the 17th FINA World Championships and FINA World Masters Championships in July 2017, replacing the city of Guadalajara (MEX). The FINA World Aquatics Championships will be held from July 14-30, 2017. The Masters Championship will follow on August 1 - 12, 2017. The event will be in the Budapest Swimming Complex, a brand new state-of-the-art facility to be built on the banks of the Danube across from Margaret Island in Budapest. Several club members are already talking about going to this meet.
